False Alarm Backfires: Trump Loyalist Faces Mockery After USC Scare

Panic gripped the University of South Carolina after officials warned students of an “active shooter” on campus Sunday night.

Authorities later confirmed it was a false alarm, but the scare left students and families shaken, fearing the worst.

Rep. Nancy Mace quickly shared images of a young man, calling him the “alleged shooter,” fueling more confusion.

She described the man as a “white male” in black shorts, grey T-shirt, with a backpack — spreading his identity online.

Later, Mace admitted it could have been a hoax or mistake, but urged stronger security at schools and universities.

As a mother of a USC student, she described the moment as terrifying, frantically calling her child for safety.

Social media quickly hit back. The man she described was later seen casually walking with an umbrella — not a gun.

Critics mocked Mace, with one user saying: “Kid should sue her! She labeled him a shooter for carrying an umbrella.”
