Indiana GOP Lawmakers Head to White House Amid Trump’s Redistricting Push
By : Mahi
Indiana Republican lawmakers are preparing for a high-profile visit to the White House this week, sources confirmed.
The closed-door meeting is set to happen at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on Tuesday afternoon.
This meeting comes as the Trump White House pressures GOP-led states to redraw congressional maps before the 2026 midterms.
Republicans currently hold 7 of 9 House seats in Indiana. Redistricting efforts could reshape at least one Democratic seat.
Democratic Rep. Frank Mrvan’s northwestern Indiana seat is the most likely target of a redistricting strategy push.
Some Republicans worry an aggressive redistricting could also aim at Rep. Andre Carson’s safer Indianapolis-based district.
Trump may make an unannounced stop to greet lawmakers, though the meeting is not listed on his official daily schedule.
Top Indiana leaders like House Speaker Todd Huston and Senate President Rodric Bray are expected to attend.
