Crypto Shake-Up: Big Decisions Coming from the U.S. House This Week!
By : Mahi
First up is a bill called the CLARITY Act, which aims to lay down clear, structured rules for how cryptocurrencies should be regulated across the country.
It's a big move to bring order to the fast-moving crypto space. At the same time, lawmakers might vote on another hot topic — banning
the creation of a central bank digital currency (CBDC). This digital version of the U.S. dollar has raised a lot of political concerns,
especially among Republicans who fear government overreach. Then on Thursday, the focus shifts to stablecoins.
The House will review the GENIUS Act, a bill already passed by the Senate. This act is designed to regulate stablecoins — a type of cryptocurrency
tied to real-world assets like the U.S. dollar — to ensure they’re safe and trustworthy. If the GENIUS Act is passed,
it would become the first major crypto law ever approved by Congress, marking a huge milestone for digital asset regulation in the U.S.
All of this is part of what House Republicans are calling "crypto week." The House Rules Committee began reviewing the full list of bills on Monday at 4 PM.
